The Top 10 Party Trends 2026

Charm parties, groovy discos, backyard festivals and bold colors are back in 2026. Welcome to the key party trends for the year ahead!

Groovy Disco Parties

Disco is shimmering back into style! Across recent runways, the spirit of the 1970s reappeared through Ashish’s sequin drenched dresses and chiffon frocks fit for Studio 54 and Valentino’s slinky sparkled catsuits. Burberry’s cool 70s rockstar styling completed the picture.

This fun aesthetic translates beautifully for kids. Think mirrored disco balls, metallic decor that catch the light, neon details and a playlist full of retro classics.

Our Disco party collection with its disco ball plates fits the bill. Mix and match it with our Roller Skate partyware and new Flower Power collection. Groovy! Launching spring 2026.

Charm Parties

The charm bracelet, worn by everyone from the ancient Egyptians to the Romans and famously beloved by Queen Victoria, is having a renewed moment! The new charm trendsetters? Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter, who all wear charms with a delightfully modern twist.

In 2026, the charm bracelet looks set to become a party theme in its own right! Think personalized charm garlands, trinkets arranged like tiny works of art and DIY jewelry stations where guests create unique pieces.

Our new Charms collection is perfect for tweens and teens and Swifties of any age. Launching spring 2026.

Backyard Festivals

Magical meadows, colorful bunting and boho chic – festivals are all about fun. These days, festivals are just as much a family experience as they are a music event, bringing parents and kids together for music, food and memory-making.

This is a theme that works perfectly at home. For kids, an outdoor celebration offers endless possibilities – create a mini music stage, a face painting tent or a dress-up corner where imagination takes flight. It also works well with our joyful circus collection which is having a moment (Pinterest have noted a 150%+ in searches for circus interior and +50% for circus nursery).

The perfect excuse to string up garlands and lanterns in the backyard – and take the food outside too with a festival-themed picnic.

Farmcore

Cooking from scratch! Backyard chickens! Homemade butter! Rustic authenticity reigns strong. Influencers such as Hannah Neeleman of Ballerina Farm and Nell Diamond whose label Hill House Home have elevated the gingham smock dress to haute desirability, continue to purvey this modern pastoral style, where simplicity, softness and a sense of purity feel aspirational.

Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2026, Cloud Dancer, a soft natural white associated with serenity, aligns perfectly. Parties inspired by this renewed simplicity lean toward handwoven textures, gingham checks, earthy palettes and the warmth of homespun craft. Explore our Reusable and Compostable collection.

Wild Color

The antidote to neutrals? Bold, joyful color. In 2026, interiors are embracing dopamine-boosting hues, with rooms drenched from floor to ceiling in saturated shades like sea green, cobalt blue and terracotta.

Designers including Prada, Versace and Dior have also embraced striking chromatic statements on the catwalks. Grass greens, tomato reds and ultraviolet tones are set to dominate spring/summer 2026. Meanwhile, Pinterest have noted a +100% increase in searches for the bold and bright ‘jelly candy aesthetic’.

Our Jungle Jamboree collection joins the movement, adding spirited animals in vibrant primary colours to the mix. Just add a fun animal inspired outfit from our dress-up collection. Now, unleash the color!

Nostalgic Charm

A wave of nostalgia, inspired in part by Ralph Lauren’s traditional holiday aesthetic, continues to sweep through interiors. Think leather chesterfields, dark polished woods, antique sideboards and richly saturated colors.

Fashion designers such as Erdem, McQueen and Simone Rocha are leaning into this old-world trend, reviving Victorian and Georgian influences for spring 2026 just in time for Bridgerton season 4.

This traditional, nostalgic trend is perfect for bridal showers, spring gatherings and Mother’s Day celebrations. Mix heirloom textiles and vintage crockery with our new Meri Meri x Liberty, Chintz and Rococo collections. Launching spring 2026.

Whimsical Cakes

Cakes in 2026 celebrate craftsmanship. The influence of kitsch cakes and chaos cakes remains strong, but the pendulum has swung toward intricate filigree piping and sumptuous detail.

"Elaborate piping continues in popularity, the grander the better for extra detail and style. There's also a trend for long sheet cakes which create a statement centerpiece down the table, perfect for bridal showers and special birthdays" says Dee Lewis of Sweet Dee’s Bakery who crafts cakes for the Meri Meri shoots.

"Exotic flavours like passionfruit, pistachio and miso are predicted to be big for 2026 but I do think traditional flavours will always stand the test of time." Our Kitten Club collection, featured here, launches spring 2026.

It’s a Kind of Magic!

According to Antoinette Lettieri, Head of Events and Event Partnerships at The Lanesborough, known for her extraordinary children’s parties, "The Wicked movie will continue to be an inspiration for lots of children’s parties." She predicts that witchy themes will remain popular well into 2026 and beyond.

With Hexed, an original animated fantasy from Walt Disney Animation Studios, scheduled for fall 2026, and The Magician's Nephew from The Chronicles of Narnia also planned for late 2026, the magical trend shows no signs of slowing down.

Expect capes, spells, enchanted forests and a wardrobe of delightful dress-up pieces.

Maritime Chic

Maritime style remains timeless. From Gabriele Chanel’s 1920s seaside collections to Jean Paul Gaultier’s iconic Breton stripes of the 1990s, maritime style has become a classic. More recently, American designers Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger perfected an East Coast vision of nautical elegance.

For parties the theme works from pirate adventures to refined poolside affairs. Our pirate collection remains a favourite and our updated nautical palette features sailor stripes seashell motifs and coastal tones ideal for warm weather entertaining. Launching spring 2026.

Chateaucore

Chateaucore evokes a world of romantic European fairytales. Imagine stone castles, embroidered textiles, crest-lined heraldry and gilded ornament full of history. This fun trend sits somewhere between an ancestral château and an old-fashioned fairy tale, though filtered through a modern lens.

For children the theme pairs beautifully with princess celebrations, enhanced with velvet banners, ornate table settings and castle inspired backdrops. For adults, it becomes a cultivated nod to Old World refinement with tapestries, candles arranged in sculptural clusters and feasting tables displayed as if in a country manor.
