To help inspire your celebrations, we've once again turned to Interior Stylist and Creative Director Sania Pell, whose magical styling brings Meri Meri's collections to life. Here are her favorite ideas for creating a Halloween home that's full of charm, imagination and just the right amount of mischief.
Make an Entrance They'll Never Forget
Halloween starts before anyone rings the doorbell. Layer your porch with oversized bats, spiders, lanterns, streamers and garlands to create a dramatic welcome. Repeating decorations in clusters creates instant impact and makes your home feel like the destination on the block.
Stylist's tip
"The giant bats and glittery skeletons are an impactful way of decorating around doorways, as are the new Halloween paper lanterns ," says Sania.
Drapescape Your Way to a Haunted Home
One of this year's biggest decorating trends is drapescaping, using layers of fabric, ribbons, gauze and textiles to add softness and drama to a space. For Halloween, flowing black tulle and gold tinsel garlands draped across mantels, mirrors, shelves and party tables. It creates an atmospheric backdrop that makes even simple decorations feel theatrical.
Finish the look with paper bats, bows, lanterns and glowing candles for a space that's spooky, stylish and full of charm.
Stylist's tip
"Layering fabrics makes a room feel immersive. Don't worry about perfection. The softer and more organic the draping, the more magical it feels."
Set the Table. Cast the Spell.
A beautifully layered Halloween table instantly makes any gathering feel special. Mix vintage-inspired partyware with playful cups, shimmering garlands, candles and paper decorations. Varying heights, textures and finishes creates a tablescape that's sophisticated enough for adults while still delighting little guests.
Stylist's tip
"For extra drama, use low-level lighting with LED table lamps and tea lights to create spooky silhouettes and a magical glow."
Think Pink For Galloween.
Halloween doesn't have to be orange and black. Pink has become the must-have color for modern Halloween celebrations, bringing a playful twist to spooky season. Layer blush, bubblegum and candy shades with black and white, then finish with bows, stripes and metallic accents for a party that's equal parts glamorous and ghostly.
Stylist's tip
"Go pink for a Galloween party, layer shades of pink with black and white, then add a bow wherever there's space!" says Sania.
Bring the Outdoors In
Nature provides some of the most beautiful Halloween decorations. Gather colorful fall leaves, ivy, twisting branches, pinecones, acorns, berries and seasonal flowers to create an organic foundation for your table. Layer in paper decorations, candles and Halloween crackers for a display that's both elegant and playful.
Stylist's tip
"Ivy with long tendrils trailing along the table creates a beautiful organic base to decorate around. Add ghostly candles, small vases of flowers, then continue the styling onto the mantel with treasured silver pieces for extra glamour," says Sania.
Let Candlelight Do the Haunting
Nothing transforms a room faster than beautiful lighting. Create a warm glow with ghost-shaped candles, bat and spider taper candles, striped pillar candles, lanterns and fairy lights. Mixing different light sources instantly makes your Halloween decor feel richer, warmer and more atmospheric.
If you're hosting adults, candles also bring a sophisticated feel to Halloween dinners and cocktail parties. Cluster different heights together for an elegant display.
Stylist's tip
"Candles instantly elevate a grown-up Halloween gathering. Group different heights together for maximum impact."
Beyond the Pumpkin
Pumpkins will always have their place, but they're not the only way to decorate. Instead of carving, try painting pumpkins with bold stripes, bows, metallic details or playful faces for a display that lasts longer. Or skip pumpkins altogether and create a centerpiece with dark pears, figs, grapes, pomegranates and richly colored flowers for a Halloween look that's both dramatic and elegant.
Stylist's tip
"Dark flowers and fruit add a spooky glamour to the table and can be enjoyed long after Halloween," says Sania.
Frame the View
Windows become magical after dark. Hang spinning ghosts, skeletons, witches, lanterns or floating bats where they'll catch the light and delight trick-or-treaters outside while creating a festive backdrop indoors.
Fill glass jars with candy, stickers, toy spiders or tiny Halloween treasures to turn your windowsill into part decoration and part treat station.
Stylist's tip
"Dark flowers and fruit add a spooky glamour to the table and can be enjoyed long after Halloween," says Sania.
Say Bone Appetite and Raise a Glass!
Halloween isn't just for kids. Whether you're hosting family, friends or neighbors, add a little theater with themed mocktails and cocktails served in festive cups. Drinks with playful names like Spooky Spider Fizz, Zombie Punch and Ghoul Goblets become part of the décor and encourage everyone to join the fun.
The most memorable Halloween homes aren't always the scariest. They're the ones that feel warm, welcoming, imaginative and just a little magical.
