Put on Your Fairy Wings

With the party date fast approaching, it’s time to make the most beautiful fairy costume. You can simply create a pretty fairy outfit by adding layers of tulle and felt or dried flowers to a favourite party dress and attach tulle from the back of the dress to bands around the wrists to create the illusion of shimmering wings. Or for an extra-special touch, invest in a luxurious Fairy Costume that is also ideal as a birthday gift and for dressing up all year. Fairy wings on their own also work beautifully teamed with any outfit for a more modern look. Check out our choice of not one, but two Meri Meri fairy wing sets – Organza Flower Wings & Wand, or our pretty peach Fairy Wings Set with stitched cotton wings and a delicate flower headband.

Or why not make your own wings? Our talented designers have created an easy step-by-step to make butterfly wings , which work beautifully as fairy wings too. It’s also perfect as a fairy party craft activity.

Magic Up a Beautiful Fairyland

Make your guests feel like they’ve stepped into an enchanted woodland world with our fairy party
decorating ideas:

• Create a fairy garden or room entrance with balloons, garlands and handmade signs pointing towards the “Fairy Kingdom”.
• Suspend fluttering paper butterflies and flower garlands from trees or ceilings to create the feeling of a woodland canopy. Faux moss, flowers and mushroom decorations will further enhance a natural look.
• Use pastel streamers and ribbons flowing through branches, chairs and tables to add a floaty feel.
• Twinkling fairy lights woven through bushes, fences or indoor party spaces will instantly make everything feel more spellbinding.
• Hang lanterns from trees or ceilings to make your party space feel more immersive. Our Liberty Mushroom Lanterns, with Liberty print designs in pretty pastel shades, are ideal for a special woodland look – and make charming bedroom or home decorations long after the party is over.

Make the Prettiest Fairy Food

Fairy party foods and drinks in themed designs with lots of pastel colors will have guests wide-eyed with excitement. For savory choices think flower-shaped sandwiches and mini quiches with edible flowers. For sweet options try cupcakes with edible flowers and fairy cake toppers; fairy fruit wands made with wooden skewers, with the sharp ends removed, filled with strawberries, grapes and blueberries and fairy dust popcorn with white chocolate and sprinkles.

For party drinks, we suggest pink lemonade with edible flowers or berry milkshakes topped with whipped cream. For a special dessert all your party guests will adore, which will double as party decorations, we also recommend making mushroom meringues. They will look amazing on your party table or dessert table to give a woodland-inspired look and taste even better! Fairy Games to Delight All Ages

Fairy party games are such a wonderful way to encourage imagination, creativity and camaraderie while helping your guests feel part of the fairyland adventure. Here are some fun party games to try:

  • Pass the magic fairy dust. Carefully pass a pot of “fairy dust” (glitter or shimmering pieces of paper) around a circle using spoons, working together to keep as much magic as possible inside.
  • Flutter and freeze dance-off. Get the fairies to flutter around the room, with their best twirls … and freeze when the music stops. Some delightful musical options, to create a fairy-tale atmosphere to dance to, are gentle harp melodies; fairy-tale classical music, like Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy by Tchaikovsky and A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Mendelssohn; and woodland nature sounds. Or, for a more contemporary feel, the Disney Tinker Bell film soundtracks are perfect.
  • Fairy wish treasure hunt. Hide little scrolls with wishes or woodland clues leading to a surprise treasure. The kids can all work together to discover the treasure at the end.
  • Pin the wings on the fairy. A fairy birthday party themed twist on a classic party game.
  • Save the fairy garden. Hide sparkling ‘gems’ around the party space and have the kids work together to find them all before the fairy garden loses its enchantment.
